4 CONTRAINDICATIONS Cefuroxime axetil is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity (e.g., anaphylaxis) to cefuroxime axetil or to other β-lactam antibacterial drugs (e.g., penicillins and cephalosporins).
